Fertilization with anhydrous ammonia - AgriSOL

Fertilisation with anhydrous ammonia offers several advantages compared with urea or ammonium nitrate: AgriSOL is a specific range of products, technologies and services developed by SOL that allow farmers to optimise production yields of cultivated land in a natural way, at the same time limiting fertiliser residues.

AgriSOL fertilisation is normally applied in spring and, with the most modern techniques, also as a top dressing (may-juni) so as to benefit from a longer time window, minimising fertiliser loss even when atmospheric conditions are not optimal. It is known that having a suitable quantity of nitrogen available as a micro elements is essential for optimal and healthy growth of crops: to achieve this result in practice nitrogen fertilisers must be used in quantities greater than those effectively absorbed by crops because of the inevitable losses, for example through rainfall.

AgriSOL permits efficient use of the fertiliser because the anhydrous ammonia quickly binds to the water naturally present in the soil and remains available to crops for longer than traditional fertilisers: this permits improved productivity per hectare without increasing fertilisation costs and permits treatment well before sowing so there is more time available for fertilisation. AgriSOL is particularly recommended for maize crops and wheat; the technology was developed in the USA and Canada for this crop and is promoted in Europe by SOL Group companies.
